Touch rugby double

Touch rugby seems to bring out the best in sibling comptitiveness, and we have another example for you.

Recently we brought to your attention the Woodgate 3 -  Samantha, Brayden and Carter, who received player of the day awards on the same day.

Well, not to be outdone, the Hillyer sisters (Courtney- Rm 5 and Mackenzie - Rm 23) both received player of the day certificates for their respective teams on the same day. Courtney and Mackenzie are active in a number of sports and we look forward to them both representing the school to showcase their talents.

Here they are, all smiles.

Trampoline success

Our athletes have a wide range of skills and interests. Today we celebrate the amazing Courtney Hillyer of Room 5.

During the first week of the October school holidays Courtney Hillyer of Rm5 was part of the Canterbury Trampoline team who went to Nationals held in Napier.  She competed in all 3 disciplines and had exceptional results considering it was the first year she was eligible and was one of the youngest in the whole competition.  She was placed 4th= out of 19 in the 10 and under girls individual trampoline, 7th out of 17 in the 10 and under girls double mini trampoline and with her partner came  4th out of 8 pairs in the 10 and under synchronised trampoline.

Way to go, Courtney. Another example of Oaklands students achieving in the world of sport.
